Viewing an Image Histogram

Histograms measure, and illustrate in graph form, the brightness and contrast characteristics of an image.  Histogram data can be created and viewed for data gathering and analytical purposes  or can be manipulated for image enhancement purposes.

To create a data histogram:

Open the image that you want to measure if it is not already opened.

Select Image Histogram from the Capture tab’s ribbon. 

A histogram window appears at the right of the Image-Pro workspace.

Right-click in the histogram to show the Image Histogram context menu:

The context menu allows you to control the format and contents of the Image Histogram.  Click here for more information about the data histogram.
